In the summer of 2017, Carr’s Hill was closed and prepared for a full renovation that would take 18 months to complete.  The signature and historic property had not undergone renovations of this magnitude in over 100 years. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the Virginia Landmarks Register, the renovation ensured the integrity of the structure would carry on long into its third century as part of the history of one of the nation's flagship public institutions for higher learning.
