Carr's Hill is the home of the University of Virginia's current President, James E. Ryan.  President Ryan is the ninth president of the University, and the ninth to live at Carr's Hill. The President's home serves as the backdrop for university and community events. Since its completion in 1909, Carr’s Hill has welcomed students, faculty, staff, alumni, community leaders, two Presidents of the United States, and many other distinguished guests from around the world. Today, Carr’s Hill strives to mirror the goals of the University as outlined in the 2030 Strategic Plan, and to serve as a beacon for progress that is both great and good.
